Douglas Fir Square-edge Cladding - 200mm wide / 20mm thick
Our native Douglas Fir is strong and naturally durable, with the highest strength rating of a softwood. The timber has a distinctive character, with its attractive salmon pink hue and darker growth rings, weathering slowly to a silvery-grey. Douglas Fir is very straight grained and 30% lighter in weight than oak, making it a cost-effective option for external cladding.
WL West’s homegrown fresh sawn Douglas Fir cladding is sustainably sourced from a local well-managed estate in Sussex. The rustic appearance of sawn profiles make them well suited to rural properties. As it is both tough and durable, with a high resistance to impact, Douglas Fir is also ideal for exposed elevations and areas of hard wear and tear.
