Douglas Fir Turning Blank

Douglas Fir Turning Blank

from £6.00

Douglas Fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii)

Can vary in colour based upon age and location of tree. Usually a light brown colour with a hint of red and/or yellow, with darker growth rings.

Grain is generally straight, or slightly wavy. Medium to coarse texture, with moderate natural lustre.

Our turning blanks are carefully selected by our expert staff. The quality control inspection ensures our blanks are as split and shake free as possible. Hot wax applied to the end grain and edges to prevent reabsorption of moisture whilst in storage. This ensures your finished object will be stable when brought into a centrally heated environment. With a range of shapes and sizes, we are sure you will find something to stimulate your creativity and inspire your next project.

NOTE: The image shown is indicative of the items we have in stock but as this is a natural product there will be variations from piece to piece.
