We can supply fresh sawn and air-dried beams for timber frames – for restoration work or new builds. Our sawmill and machining workshop also offer: brace & jowel cutting; oak dowels – timber nails; timber cladding; timber shakes and shingles; solid hardwood flooring and worktops; kit form oak framed buildings; gates and fencing.

• Responsible Purchasers: Chain of Custody for both PEFC, FSC and Grown in Britain, enabling us to supply certificated timber where supply is available. • Machine Profile Work: WL West Timber can produce mouldings and machine intricate products or match existing profiles for restoration work.

WL West Timber have been privileged to be involved in numerous restoration projects over many decades, including the Natural History Museum, HMS Victory, Kensington Palace, Westminster Abbey, plus many local churches and listed buildings.

We will visit the site to develop an in-depth understanding of your requirements and we have the expertise and resources to work with you to source suitable matching timbers or alternatives. Sometimes, original timber species that have been in place for hundreds of years are either no longer available or are illegal to trade. When this occurs, we aim to find an alternative species to meet your needs.

Restoration projects on listed buildings often involve matching a profile, perhaps a skirting or architrave detail. Using modern technology, we will get as near as possible to the original profile and design, with the aim that the new is indistinguishable from the old.
